...Really? They could license the story and the characters, but not the score? I know I can't think of the movie without the music, and how great the score even is on its own. Were I producing I know I would have wanted to include it. Those opening notes are similar to Beauty and the Beast in how attention-grabbing they are.

I'm always interested in hearing more about this production, and would love someday to see video of it. It seems like a really good idea to bring Mononoke to the stage, but it's also a production that could go terribly, hilariously wrong. And it's a good question to whether or not the casting will be generally race-blind, or just white people as samurais.
