Disney Fact Check: Davis Gibson vs. Official PATF Concept Art

David Gilson is a French Artist. In 2007, over being excited for Disney’s Black Princess, he created a plethora of wonderful artwork in anticipation.

Many of them created during earliest production in which the film was then titled The Frog Princess and the heroine was named Maddy the chambermaid. These works since have been passed around as if they were conceptual artwork during production. In part for being well done and existing a year prior to any real art released to the press and public.

As The Princess and The Frog hops towards five years since theatrical release, it it time to identify these great works of art as they are, fan art.

The right column showcases the beautiful pieces by Disney Artists. David Gilson’s fan artwork is used often when talking about natural hair for Tiana. Lorelay Bové, Sue Nichols, Chris Appelhans, Armand Baltazar and Kevin Gollaher have drawn natural hair in their concept art and unfortunately that aspect did not make it to realization.

David was contracted by Disney Publishing and Disney Consumer Products for Tangled in 2010. Hey, who knows maybe all the attention to his Tiana art landed him the job. We wish him the best in all his artistic endeavors! [SOURCE]

#Character Spotlight: Mermaid Collection by FERNL @deviantArt.com

IF THERE'S ANYTHING DeciantART user FERNL loves to do, its re-imagine Disney characters as color coded mermaids --- obviously stemming from an adoration of 1989's The Little Mermaid. The following pieces below are a collection of Disney Heroes and Disney Heroines as the aforementioned.

#Discussion: "The Princess and the Frog: Meet the Parents" Sequel Idea --- Y/N?

“I want a well-animated Princess and the Frog sequel about Tiana meeting Naveen’s family in his home country (but no Charlotte please… no offense but I would want Tiana to have the spotlight to herself for a change)”

Gotta say, as content as I am with Princess and the Frog as a one-shot (because, oh lord, those awful DTDVD sequels), that would've been an interesting shortie to have seen put into production over something like Eugene and Rapunzel's marriage. What say you? N/Y?

petitetiaras Disney Prince and Princess Magazine Mock Ups

TUMBLR USER petitetiaras has become pretty popular with the creation of her magazine and article mock ups with the employ of the Disney Princesses under said Disney Brand. A project that presumably began in late 2011, the "Disney Princess" magazine style was later used with the few Disney heroes connected to the Disney Princesses. These covers have been making the rounds online for a grand total for the past nine months (eight for Princes) or so, a testament to their popularity with the Disney fandom. Featured below are the likes of Aladdin, Shang, Naveen, Tiana, Pocahontas and Jasmine. True to the nature of Magazine covers and editorial, the magazine features over bright contrast on our heroes and neon color pretty much everywhere. Kinda wish she or he would do the others characters against Magazine Mock ups.
